Afyon stands out not only for its historical heritage but also for its remarkable natural attractions. One of the must-see destinations is Eber Gölü. Known for its rich biodiversity, the lake is home to numerous bird species, including bean geese, cormorants, and Dalmatian pelicans.

As the 12th largest lake in Turkey by surface area, Eber Lake boasts a vibrant and diverse ecosystem. It attracts not only birdwatchers but also hunters. Scattered across the lake are many small islets locally referred to as “kopak,” adding a unique charm to the scenery.

Since 1992, the lake has been protected as a first-degree natural conservation site, helping preserve its unspoiled character. Located between the districts of Bolvadin and Çay, this hidden paradise can be easily reached by private car. There is no entrance fee to visit the lake.
