The Nasreddin Hodja Archaeology and Ethnography Museum, located in Akşehir, is notable for preserving its original architectural character. The museum was established by restoring the Rüştü Bey Mansion and has since become one of the region’s most prominent cultural tourism destinations. Today, it stands out as one of the area’s most popular attractions.
Construction of the Rüştü Bey Mansion was started by Armenian craftsmen and completed by Turkish builders. The building, consisting of a basement, ground floor, and two additional stories, underwent extensive restoration by the Ministry of Culture in 1989. The museum officially opened to visitors in 1992, offering free admission. Its collections feature both archaeological and ethnographic artifacts, providing visitors with an in-depth insight into Akşehir’s historical and cultural heritage.
